Dodgers Re-Sign Player With Schizophrenia

Baseball’s LA Dodgers have decided to re-sign outfielder Andrew Toles to give him access to the team’s health insurance and mental health services. Toles has Schizophrenia and hasn’t played since 2018. Re-signing will allow him to keep getting treatment and counseling and expensive medications. Toles won’t play for the club. Public reaction has been significant. Many are praising the Dodgers but not the healthcare system, given many people don’t have an LA Dodgers to rescue them in a time of crisis.
