Anorexia Could Have Been Prevented
Anorexia was winning - Krista DeCeault, the Illinois State athlete, had been dealing with the disease since high school and by the time the marathoner was in college her heart was getting weaker and her depression and anxiety escalating. Illinois State Coach Jeff Bovee could see it and eventually DeCeault was hospitalized. After getting stabilized, she returned to school and running and now talks openly about what would have helped prevent the disease in the first place. “If a dietician would’ve come to my high school and talked to the cross-country team when I was a freshman, I probably wouldn’t have developed an eating disorder…” Click here for DeCeault’s story.
