Insurers Prioritizing Behavioral Health

The 17th edition of the Healthcare Payer Index tracks managed care priorities and why they have changed over time and while just 3 of the top 20 emerging priorities for health insurers fall squarely under the behavioral health umbrella, 17 of the 20 have some connection to behavioral health – either as a quality measure or an important service to add on – like orthopedic and PT groups who increasingly deal with patients confronting mental health or addiction issues. To see the Top 20 rankings, where behavioral health fits, and why 7 services are new to the list, check out the full rankings and analysis here in this year’s Healthcare Payer Index, 17th edition.
